Throughout the tournament, OKINAWA KARATE WEEK is on at three venues — the Okinawa Karate Kaikan, the Okinawa Convention Center and Shurijo Castle Park — linked by a free shuttle bus.

For Practitioners

DemonstrationsDaily, once in the morning and once in the afternoon (Dojo A, Okinawa Karate Kaikan): Shuri-Tomari-te, Naha-te, Uechi-ryu and kobudo. Free.
Practice spaceDojo B, Okinawa Karate Kaikan, Jul 28 – Aug 2, for karate practitioners, free.

Participants-Only Event

A participants-only lottery event is held at the Okinawa Convention Center central plaza. Please wear your tournament ID pass to join.

For Families & Companions

Free karate classes (daily at 10:30 & 13:30), tile-breaking, Haisai festival games and the uchiwa stamp rally.

Karate Heritage Tours (Aug 3)

On Aug 3, the day after the finals, guided tours visit sites connected to each karate style (4 courses, 5,000–12,000 yen, advance reservation). Specialist karate guides and masters of each style are planned to accompany the tours.

Getting Between Venues

A free shuttle bus links the tournament arena (Okinawa Convention Center), the Okinawa Karate Kaikan, Shurijo Castle Park and the Prefectural Office (Kenmin Square). The timetable is posted on the shuttle bus page. On the day, the venue information desks can also help.

International Exchange

At the Okinawa Karate Kaikan: JICA's "international cooperation through karate" panel exhibition with karate-gi donations, and an introduction to Seiseikan, a karate dojo in Beijing, China.
